First, I want to apologize to Casey for not stepping in sooner and letting everyone know what's been up.
My interest in up keeping the current web site diminished as family obligations, new jobs, and other hobbies took over all my free time over the last several years. Bob Daley has mostly been monitoring this forum for me as my visits became less frequent. I still love the C-130 and have still been involved with her in my post-military career.

Got this off the AF Magazine news letter.
Pennsylvania Air National Guard has put one of the EC-130E Commando Solo aircraft of the 193rd Special Operations Wing on static display at Ft. Indiantown Gap, commemorating the event in a special ceremony last week, reports The Patriot-News. This particular aircraft tail No. 7773 flew until the end of 2005. Just got this - may be old news to some.

Gunship JCA: The Air Force is "very serious" about the Joint Cargo Aircraft, Gen. Michael Moseley, Chief of Staff, told reporters at AFA's Air & Space Conference Monday. So serious, in fact, that it is considering not only a cargo mission for the smallish airlifter, but a combat role as well, by mounting 30mm cannon on the JCA to make it a small gunship. The aircraft might be just the right size for Air Force Special Operations...

Sad Day In OKC

1100hrs, 20 Sep 2007, was a sad day at the 185th AS at Will Rogers ANGB Oklahoma, as the last 3 of 8 Hercs left for good. BRAC mandated conversion to KC-135 as an Associate Unit with the 507th AFRES at Tinker AFB has begun. Man you talk about culture shock! But at least our unit did have a follow on mission unlike some units.

The old Herc is a great plane and a great community to be in and we will miss it as no other aircraft lets you experience the world as it did.

Just returned from a 3 week vacation to China and Taiwan. Had a great trip. Found out that even with COPD and being 69 years old I can still breath at 11500 feet above sea level! Visited Jiuzhaigou in Sichuan county near the Tibet border....
the airport JZH is 11380 feet above sea level....what an approach through the mountain tops. Was as much fun as those old Vietnam flying days.
